Full Professor of Cardiology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Chief of Cardiology, Modena University Hospital Fellow of ESC, of EHRA and of HFA.

Former Member of the Board of EHRA and Chair of the Health Economics Committee (2009-2013 and 2020-2024). Member of the Board of the Council on Cardio-Oncology of ESC (2018-2022 and 2024-) President (2016-2018) of the of AIAC (the Italian Society of Cardiac Pacing and Arrhythmology).

Scientific activity focused on clinical electrophysiology, pace-makers, ICDs, CRT, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, antiarrhythmic drugs, health economics and clinical cardiology.
